Vaughn Epic 8600 vs. 7400 Vaughn Velocity? (Chest and Arm Protector)?

I play 18U AAA and Reebok C & A that I have now is pretty bad. Not can afford the 7500 (speed) or 8800 (EPIC) then I'll have to adjust for the minor version. protection is a factor even more important, but I want good movement, duration, and an area of large block sizes in particular on his shoulders.

I use a Vaughn VP5500, love of death. Never heard thing, even when playing against former and current professional leagers minors.
